Bhargavi Rani Anne |top| Jun 2026
Following her master's program, her research potential earned her the prestigious MEXT Scholarship, funded by the Government of Japan, to pursue her doctoral studies. She completed her Ph.D. in Materials Process Engineering at Kyushu University in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Masaki Tanaka. Chronology of Research Appointments
Dr. Anne has also contributed to a crucial review on the recent updates regarding the oxidation behavior in HEAs. Oxidation is a major degradation mechanism for metals at high temperatures, leading to the formation of oxide scales that can cause spalling, reduce load-bearing cross-sections, and ultimately lead to component failure. Researching how novel HEAs resist or succumb to oxidation is essential for their potential deployment in next-generation gas turbines, nuclear reactors, and other extreme environments.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2010–2014) from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (APIIIT) in Andhra Pradesh.
Currently, Dr. Bhargavi Rani Anne serves as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur. NITs are premier public engineering institutions in India, known for their high academic standards and significant contributions to technical education and research. In her role at NIT Raipur, she is responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students while continuing her active research program. Her appointment represents a significant achievement, marking her transition from an early-career researcher to a faculty member capable of leading her own research group. bhargavi rani anne

Driven by a passion for advanced research, Dr. Anne set her sights on a doctoral degree. Her exceptional potential was recognized when she was awarded the highly competitive by the Government of Japan. This prestigious scholarship, which funds international students to study at Japanese universities, allowed her to join Kyushu University , one of Japan's leading research institutions. Here, she completed her Ph.D. in Materials Processing Engineering in 2020. Her doctoral research was focused on the intricate topic of the “ Temperature dependence of slip deformation under uniform/cyclic loads in Ti-6Al-4V ,” conducted under the supervision of Prof. Masaki Tanaka. Titanium alloys like Ti-6Al-4V are critical for aerospace and biomedical applications, and understanding their behavior under various stress and temperature conditions is of paramount importance.
