The composition of the Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam is steeped in the rich history of the Sri Vaishnava tradition. It was composed around 1420 AD by the renowned 15th-century poet and scholar, Prativadi Bhayankara Annan (also known as Sri Ananthacharya). A devout disciple of the celebrated Vaishnava preceptor, Manavala Mamuni, Annan formalized the 70 stanzas (slokas) that constitute the full hymn today.
